A young elephant, weakened due to a lack of food and water, has been rescued and transported to a sanctuary, now receiving critical medical care.
Wildlife officers provide essential treatments, including saline, to help the elephant regain strength.
They are also investigating the cause of the elephant’s injuries, with suspicions that it may have been harmed by being knocked down or by an explosion from a “Hakka patas” trap.
The distressed young elephant has exhibited signs of severe stress and injury, prompting the experts present to offer water from their bottles to keep it hydrated.
The dedication of the wildlife officers is commendable; they have spent hours under the sun, foregoing their own needs, to focus entirely on the elephant’s recovery.
Additional support has been called to assist in safely transporting the elephant to a specialized care facility for further treatment.
