Scarlett Johansson, known for her roles in action-packed blockbusters like the Avengers series, is switching gears to team up with acclaimed director Taika Waititi for his upcoming film “Jojo Rabbit.”

“Jojo Rabbit” is set against the backdrop of World War II and follows a young German boy who discovers his mother, portrayed by Johansson, is harboring a Jewish girl in their home.

To cope with the situation, the boy conjures an imaginary friend, played by Waititi, who takes on the persona of Adolf Hitler.

Despite the unconventional premise, Waititi assures that his portrayal of Hitler will be far from the historical villain, instead embodying charm and naivety.

Waititi, who also penned the “Jojo Rabbit” screenplay, has demonstrated versatility in his directorial pursuits.
