According to an exclusive from Variety, Johansson’s directorial debut, “Eleanor the Great,” will feature a stellar cast including Jessica Hecht, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and June Squibb.

Initially announced under the title “Eleanor, Invisible,” the film has undergone a title change to “Eleanor the Great.”
The screenplay, penned by up-and-coming writer Tory Kamen, known for her work on FX’s “The Mick,” revolves around an elderly woman who experiences a profound life change after the death of her best friend.
The Movie Stars June Squibb
June Squibb, renowned for her Academy Award-nominated role in “Nebraska” (2013), will play the lead. After living in Florida for many years, her character returns to her native New York to start a new chapter.

With nearly 100 acting credits to her name, Squibb’s involvement adds significant weight to the film. Johansson, alongside producers from Pinky Promise, These Pictures, and Maven Screen Media, will helm the production.
