Ralph was rescued by It Takes A Village Animal Rescue in Muscatine, Iowa. He was quickly moved from his harsh surroundings into a foster home, hoping for a safer and happier life.
However, Ralph’s new foster family soon noticed something unusual. He wasn’t using his legs, opting instead to shimmy across the floor, and he often laid flat on his stomach.
Alarmed, the family contacted the rescue organization, prompting a thorough veterinary examination. The results were heartbreaking: Ralph had swimmer syndrome, a condition that caused his legs to sprawl sideways, rendering him unable to walk or even stand.
Undeterred, Ralph’s caregivers refused to give up. They relocated him to another foster home, one with a family prepared to meet his special needs. Sarah Evans and her housemates welcomed Ralph with open hearts, ready to shower him with love and encouragement.
