To provide care and support, a team embarked on a journey with MaeMai on January 8, 2021.

Despite her weakened condition, the team guided her along the serene path by the river to bring her to a park where she could receive compassionate care.

The journey highlighted the urgent need to offer her a more conducive environment and marked a pivotal moment in her path to recovery.

As MaeMai walked down the river towards the Elephant Nature Park, the symbolic transition from adversity to hope unfolded.

Since joining the community over a year ago, MaeMai’s life has significantly improved, yet her injured leg remained a persistent challenge.

The Gentle Giant, Stay Home project collaborated with Derrick Campana from the Bionic Pet Team USA to create a custom prosthetic leg brace for MaeMai.

The “Bionic Giant” campaign, initiated in 2021, showcased the collaborative efforts between the veterinary team and Bionic Pets.

The knee brace, designed to support MaeMai’s leg during walks, played a crucial role in alleviating pain and preventing the worsening of her dislocated joint.

With the brace in place, MaeMai exhibited increased confidence in her movements, traversing greater distances.

The ongoing assistance of this prosthetic brace is expected to contribute to continued improvement in MaeMai’s well-being.
