Lucha, a 33-year-old Asian elephant residing at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo in England, was recently observed losing weight rapidly and refusing her food.
Concerned zookeepers investigated the cause and discovered a severe tooth infection upon examining her mouth.
Head veterinarian Nic Masters consulted with dental expert Peter Kertesz, who successfully removed the infected tooth.

The size of the tooth is quite impressive. Following the procedure, Lucha has returned to her usual, joyful self.
