When Edina noticed a puppy struggling to move across the grass, she knew she had to step in and help.
This is the story of Rossie, a puppy whose journey from hardship to happiness captures the heart.
Upon arrival, Edina was met with a heartbreaking scene. The frightened puppy, later named Rossie, was painfully dragging herself along, unable to stand on her own. It appeared that Rossie had suffered injuries, possibly from being hit by a car, causing severe distress and prompting her to try and escape from Edina’s aid.
“She looked at us with tears in her eyes, as if she was saying… please, help me,” Edina remembered.
Gaining Rossie’s trust was challenging, given her fear of humans likely stemming from past traumas. Nevertheless, Edina and her friends knew immediate action was crucial, and they took Rossie to a veterinary clinic for urgent treatment.
At the clinic, Rossie was withdrawn and scared, keeping her distance from those trying to help. X-rays showed that her hind legs were indeed broken, necessitating surgery to insert fixators. The surgery took place the next day and went smoothly despite Rossie’s apprehension.
Rossie’s path to recovery was truly inspiring. Just three days post-surgery, she began to walk, each step a testament to her resilience and determination. Though still cautious around people, her progress was remarkable and motivated everyone involved in her care.
“It’s unbelievable what these little souls can survive,” Edina shared. “She needs a lot of love, but I’m sure she also has a lot of love to give.”
Gradually, Rossie started to open up, learning to trust those around her. After 38 days, she was fully recovered, walking easily on all four legs. With her vaccinations complete and her health restored, she was a new dog.
Rossie’s journey from a scared, injured puppy to a joyous, playful companion was extraordinary. She conquered her fears and embraced the affection of those surrounding her.
Ultimately, a kind family from England adopted Rossie, offering her a permanent loving home.
Today, Rossie thrives in her new life, enveloped in love and care, living the happy life she deserves.
