Valente’s journey began with a heartbreaking ordeal. Left in a ditch and unable to walk, he was starved and left alone for several days until a kind-hearted person came to his rescue.
When he first arrived at the NGO Patinha Salva, Valente was frail and malnourished. Despite his weakened state, his tail-wagging showed a spark of hope that touched his caregivers’ hearts.

Some suggested giving up on him, but others were determined to fight for his life.
With the dedicated care from veterinarians and animal shelters, Valente gradually began to regain his strength. Every small improvement was a triumph over neglect and starvation.

Thanks to a focused rehabilitation program, which included using a wheelchair to aid his mobility, Valente was soon back on his feet, growing stronger and more confident each day.
His remarkable recovery moved everyone who witnessed it and reinforced faith in humanity and the power of love. Being a pitbull—a breed often misunderstood due to stereotypes—Valente’s resilience and affection won many hearts.

His adoption by a loving family marked the beginning of a joyful new chapter, where he found companionship with an older sister named Cacau.
Valente’s story is a powerful testament to the transformative impact of compassion and perseverance. It serves as a reminder of the joy that comes from giving deserving animals a second chance at life and love.
