Abandoned and left to survive on his own, Isumu the dog had never experienced love or care. He was found near a shelter, struggling along a lonely road.
Evidence of his past hardships was visible in the thick scars around his neck caused by tight chains, and his long, painful nails. Scarring from old rabies wounds and a faint odor of decay were signs of his previous trials.
Despite everything, Isumu’s eyes still held onto a faint sparkle of life mixed with fear, humility, and a touch of hope. He longed for someone to see him and offer a way out of his despair.
That moment arrived when a volunteer from the shelter came across Isumu. They gently gathered him up and took him to a safe place where caring veterinarians quickly got to work.
They cleaned his wounds, washed away the dirt and neglect, and introduced him to the comforts of a warm bed, a hearty meal, and fresh water.
Once at the shelter, surrounded by people who cared, Isumu started to recover both physically and emotionally. As each day passed, he grew more trusting, and a hint of joy returned to his eyes.
He even began to wag his tail, expressing gratitude and embracing new hope. For Isumu, this was the beginning of experiencing love and the possibility of a bright future.
