The trap is often hidden inside large fruits or vegetables, making it easy for unsuspecting animals to fall victim.

The calf, unfortunately, fell prey to one of these traps but was fortunate enough to be found by wildlife officers before it was too late.
The officers acted quickly, immediately caring for the calf’s injuries and rushing it to an elephant treatment center for further medical attention.

Despite the severity of its injuries, the young elephant remained calm throughout the treatment.
The dedicated efforts of wildlife officers and veterinarians ensured that the calf received the necessary care to recover from the wounds inflicted by the Hakka patas.
The elephant would have endured a prolonged and painful death without their timely intervention.
The incident underscores the need to combat such inhumane practices and protect wildlife for future generations.
The survival of these majestic creatures is vital for maintaining biodiversity and the cultural and natural heritage they represent.
