A girl from Pokhrofskoy Richardalovsky, Ukraine, reached out to a local animal shelter through a Facebook message, expressing concern about two dogs that had been left chained outside a house near hers.

The owner had reportedly left for a month, leaving the dogs in dire conditions.

The young woman, whose name is Xenia, noticed a foul smell coming from the property. Unfortunately, after sharing her concerns online, she faced ridicule and decided to delete her post in distress.

Despite limited information—having no address or phone number—the dedicated rescue team from the shelter was moved by the heartbreaking photos and determined to find the dogs.

After nearly three hours of travel and inquiries, they located the house. They forced entry by breaking the lock and were met with a strong odor. Sadly, one of the dogs did not survive.

The surviving dog, a Labrador named Boss, was in poor condition—emaciated and extremely ill from starvation. He was visibly distressed and hesitant to trust his rescuers.

The team swiftly transported the weakened Boss to a veterinary clinic where he received urgent care, including a blood transfusion.

Over time, Boss began to recover. He showed a healthy appetite and his spirits lifted, displaying his intelligence and charm. Afterward, Boss was placed into temporary foster care and soon began to thrive while waiting for a permanent home.

In a heartening turn of events, a family from Kiev adopted Boss, marking the start of a new chapter in his life. His transformation into a vibrant, happy dog thrilled everyone involved in his rescue.
