Scarlett Johansson made a striking appearance at the Cannes Film Festival during the premiere of Asteroid City on Tuesday, proudly displaying her impressive back tattoos while wearing an elegant pink gown.
At 38, the American actress looked glamorous in a figure-hugging gown adorned with white glittering straps highlighting her silhouette. She completed her look with a dazzling pair of earrings from David Yurman, turning heads on the red carpet.

Johansson first revealed her lamb tattoo beneath her right shoulder blade at the Rough Night premiere in June 2017. Just a month later, she showcased her large floral tattoo across her back.
Her ink collection also includes a horseshoe on her ribcage, designed by French graffiti artist Fuzi Uvtpk, a rising sun on her left forearm, and two interlocking circles on her right ankle. Additionally, she has a bracelet tattoo on her wrist and a “Lucky One” stamp on her ribs.

Scarlett attended the premiere with her husband Colin Jost, 40, holding hands and sharing smiles in a rare public appearance. Jost looked dapper in a black tuxedo as they enjoyed the event together.
In Asteroid City, Johansson portrays Midge Campbell, a character involved in a Junior Stargazer convention disrupted by extraordinary events.
Wes Anderson directs the film, featuring co-stars Jason Schwartzman, Margot Robbie, and Tom Hanks.

Scarlett and Colin have been married for three years and have a son, Cosmo Jost. Scarlett also has an eight-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy, from her previous marriage to French journalist Romain Dauriac.
Earlier this year, Johansson candidly shared that she nearly left acting after losing out on a dream role to Sandra Bullock.
In an interview, she reflected on her inadequacy, particularly after being rejected for significant roles she had auditioned for.

Scarlett initially lost the part of Black Widow, offered to Emily Blunt, and later felt “hopeless” when she was overlooked for a role in Gravity, which ultimately went to Bullock. This rejection was pivotal for Johansson, making her rethink her career path.
She told Variety, “I got turned down for two roles—the first was Iron Man 2 and the other was Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity. I had wanted that role so much. It was sort of the straw that broke the camel’s back. I felt frustrated and hopeless. Like, ‘Am I doing the right job?'”
Johansson also doubts the fulfillment of the roles she was offered following her breakout success in Lost In Translation, stating it was challenging to escape the “pigeonhole” of being seen solely as a bombshell.

She questioned whether her career was at a standstill, mentioning, “I think I was offered every Marilyn Monroe script ever. I was like, ‘Is this the end of the road creatively?'”
Fortunately for Johansson, her fortunes changed when Emily Blunt had to withdraw from Iron Man 2 due to contractual obligations with Fox, leading to Scarlett being re-offered the role.
Although her character’s role in the film was limited, it opened doors for future opportunities, as she remarked, “That movie wasn’t going to move the needle forward in terms of how my character was written, but there was potential for what it could be—a potential for growth in subsequent films.”
