Scarlett Johansson, a renowned actress, recently joked about being overshadowed by her one-year-old son, Cosmo, during the filming of Asteroid City. Despite her fame, she noted that her son captured everyone’s attention on set.
At 38, Johansson, set to star in and produce a gender-swapped version of Just Cause, welcomed Cosmo with her husband Colin Jost in August 2021.

In an interview with People, she shared her humorous experience on set: “I wasn’t popular; it was just the baby. People were excited to see the baby, not me. They’re like, ‘Oh, it’s you. Where’s baby?’”
Johansson explained that her family accompanied her to the set, noting, “My husband and baby did because we had just had a baby.”

She observed that while some crew members brought their partners, many attended alone, and most had older children.
“I just had a tiny, tiny baby,” she added, highlighting that Cosmo became the unofficial “set baby” for Asteroid City.
On The Kelly Clarkson Show in September, Johansson elaborated on the significance of her son’s name.

She explained that Cosmo and her eight-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy, share floral names. “They are both flowers. Not a lot of people make that connection,” she remarked.
Describing Cosmo, she said, “Cosmo is a really sweet little flower that comes in different shades of orange and yellow,” adding that her daughter found the name “refreshing” and charming.
Although Johansson’s mother-in-law initially suggested alternative names, Johansson firmly stated, “No, he’s already here, he’s out.”

Recently, Johansson also opened up about a challenging period in her career when she was rejected for two significant roles, which led her to reconsider her future in the film industry.
She recalled being turned down for roles in Iron Man 2 and Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity, admitting, “It was sort of the straw that broke the camel’s back. I felt frustrated and hopeless. Like, ‘Am I doing the right job?’” Ultimately, she secured the role of Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow, after Emily Blunt withdrew from the project.
