In many stories and films, animals respond to music enchantingly, from the Pied Piper’s bewitching flute to animated creatures singing and dancing. But how do real animals, especially elephants, react to music?
The Elephant Nature Park in northern Thailand, near Chang Mai, holds the answer. This rescue and rehabilitation center focuses primarily on elephants, thanks to its founder, Sangdeaun Lek Chailert.

Born in a small village north of Chang Mai, Lek began her journey in animal care through her grandfather, a traditional healer who treated both people and sick or injured animals. Over decades, Lek’s dedication to elephants has earned her global acclaim.
A touching video from the park shows Lek interacting with one of the elephants heartwarmingly.
At first glance, it might look like she is swatting the elephant with a cloth. However, the real magic happens when Lek sings a gentle lullaby to help the elephant fall asleep.
The scene captures the elephant’s calm as it lies down, while its contented snoring adds to the charm of this special moment.
