Due to physical distancing requirements this year, the event was not open to the public. However, the elephants were entirely focused on their feast, oblivious to the lack of spectators.

The sight of the elephants crushing the pumpkins was remarkable. They stomped on the soft, sweet-fleshed pumpkins, taking their time to enjoy the treat.

Onlookers and caretakers could hear the satisfying crunches as the elephants smashed and devoured the pumpkins.

In earlier years, local farmers donated pumpkins to support the Zoo’s efforts to enhance animal well-being. These activities are entertaining and help the elephants adjust to their environment.
