Scarlett Johansson, renowned for her captivating performances, has had a diverse career in the film industry. While some of her movies became hits, others failed to create a buzz.
In the 2006 film “Scoop,” directed by Woody Allen, Johansson portrayed an American student in London who falls for an aristocrat, played by Hugh Jackman.

Despite the star-studded cast, the movie’s release didn’t generate much audience excitement.
Following this, Johansson starred in Brian De Palma’s adaptation of James Ellroy’s novel, “The Black Dahlia” (2006).

The noir film revolves around two detectives investigating the brutal killing of an aspiring actress, delving into a dark world of obsession and immorality. Despite Johansson’s convincing portrayal, the movie received mixed reviews.
The setback was temporary as Johansson returned with the 2006 hit “The Prestige.” Set in the Victorian era, the film explores the rivalry between two stage magicians, played by Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale, leading to professional success and personal tragedy.
In a turn to the 1930s, Johansson took on a supporting role in the film adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s “Lady Windermere’s Fan,” titled “A Good Woman” (2006). Unfortunately, this movie did not fare well at the box office.

Despite her status as a sex symbol, acknowledged by men’s magazines like Maxim and FHM, Johansson opted for diverse roles.
One such attempt was in the commercially anticipated comedy “The Nanny Diaries” (2007), based on a best-selling book. However, the movie fell short of expectations, underperforming at the box office.
Scarlett Johansson’s journey in the film industry has seen both successes and setbacks, showcasing her versatility and resilience as an actress.
