Suzette Hall, a devoted dog rescuer from Southern California, has seen it all, from bringing stray dogs off the streets to nursing injured dogs back to health, and finally placing them in loving homes.

However, despite her vast experience, some rescues still manage to surprise her.

One day, Hall received a call about a little dog spotted near a construction site parking lot. Initially, it seemed like a normal rescue mission, but she quickly realized that this case was quite unique.

Upon arriving at the site, Hall was disheartened by what she found. The small dog was living between a trailer park and the construction area, using a tiny hole in a fence to move between the two locations.

In a social media post, Hall recounted, “The poor dog found a little hole in a fence between a mobile home park and a new construction site. That hole led to a small traveling space that ended up inside the mobile homes.”

The pup, later named Bethany, had befriended several trailer park residents and would often play with them during the day. However, when evening came, her friends returned to their homes, leaving Bethany behind in the vacant lot.

“They all had homes to go to, but she didn’t,” Hall explained, depicting the heartbreaking scene. Without food, shelter, or comfort, and faced with dangers, Hall knew she couldn’t leave Bethany there.

Since Bethany was wary of people, Hall set a humane trap, hoping to catch her safely. She shared, “She was so scared of people and would run if you got close. I set a trap and waited.”

At first, Bethany was hesitant and bolted every time she approached the trap. Eventually, Hall moved the trap nearer to the trailer park, and after hours of waiting, Bethany finally ventured inside and was safe.

Hall then focused on finding Bethany a new home. Although departing from her playmates seemed to sadden the dog, Hall remained optimistic about Bethany’s future.

While preparing Bethany for foster care, Hall received surprising news: Bethany had not been abandoned but was lost. She had been missing from her owner for two months.

Someone had found her and left her near the lot, while her owner continued searching.

“Someone had definitely found her and relocated her. Her mama never gave up and yesterday… we reunited Bebe with her mama. It was just another miracle,” Hall shared with joy.

The reunion was full of emotion as Bebe, the name lovingly used by her mother, was finally back in familiar arms. After enduring weeks of fear and uncertainty, she could now relax in the safety of her own home, where she undoubtedly belonged.
